The Fountain in Chicago.
We passed this fountain on the way to the zoo. Its looked pretty cool so we decided it would be fun to stop on the way home to grab a few pictures and let the kids run. We thought it may wear them out a little more and they would all sleep on the way home. Thought was the key word. I thought parking would be a pain but we were able to park right in front of the fountain. We all unloaded and a Hispanic man walked up to us. he spoke no english and everyone in our group had no clue what he was saying. We finally figured out that he was to call his wife Sara to come pick him up, but his button on his cell phone to send the number did not work. We were finally able to get a hold of his wife to pick him up. I didn't know we had a picture of this event until I was looking through my pictures.

Now on to pictures from the fountain. The kids were not into taking anymore pictures by this time so this is as good as it gets.

It was a very long, hot, and humid day. On our way home the wind really picked up you could fell the truck rocking, and then it just poured down rain. I was so glad to see my bed that night. We all slept really well.

Lincoln Park Zoo
We have finally made it into the zoo. Did a potty break, and started making our way around the zoo. Our first stop was to see the big cats. They kids all enjoyed them.

Next we moved on to the monkeys and apes. This by far was the best part of the zoo. There was this one monkey not sure what kind it was that would sit behind the glass and suck his thumb and watch all the people. He would then swing around on his ropes and continue to watch the people. As soon as someone was not watching him he would throw himself against the window and scare the people. I guess he wanted them to watch him. Then he would stand up and pee toward everyone. The kids thought that was the funniest thing "BOYS".Then he thought it would be neat to press his stuff against the window for everyone to see. Then he ended up throwing his poop against the window. This was the most entertaining monkey I have ever saw. I could not get a very good picture of this guy. But here is the best I have.

Then we moved on to the farm area. It was already to late to feed the farm animals. But we still got pictures with the tractor and other things.

Then here is just some random pictures from our trip to the zoo.

Chicago trip
It was a Friday and I took the day off of work. My sister and her boyfriend and their kids were in town for the weekend. We sat around all morning thinking of something we could go and do. Around 11:00 we decided to go to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Owen and Elliot were at VBS at my moms church. They were suppose to be home around noon. At 11:30 I decided to call Amanda and see if she wanted to go with us. Earlier in the week I had found out that the Shedd had free admission this week. Friday was the last day to get in free. We all got ready to go. Coolers were packed with food and bottled water. We were ready to leave..................but we had no Owen and Elliot. My mom was suppose to pick them up and bring them home. Well she made a detour and took the boys to Dairy Queen. About they got home and we left it was about 1:00. We all loaded up and off we went. On the way we were trying to use Jeffs computer program for navigation. Couldn't figure it out. So we just drove and figured since it was along the lake we should be fine. Amazingly we found our way to the Shedd. We get there and start to try someplace to park and noticed a sign that said "2 HOUR WAIT TO ENTER THE SHEDD"! You have to be kidding me! I could not believe it. Did I tell you it was 90+ degrees out and felt like 100% humidity and we had 4 teens, 4 grade schoolers and 4 little ones under the age of 2 1/2. There was no way we were waiting that long to get in. So we decided to go on down to Lincoln Park Zoo. It is free and something to do since we drove all that way. Well we were not really sure where it was so we figures we would drive on up the lake and figure it out as we go. Ok we had to turn around a few times but we finally found it. We parked and got everyone unloaded, got the food out, and ate. Well we were all suppose to eat, but the kids found better things to do.
Elliot found a big mud puddle to run through, Owen, Leland and Kelsey wanted to feed the seagulls, Chandler and Caleb found geese to torment. Oh how I wished those geese would turn around and chase them. We finished up our picnic lunch and headed on into the zoo.

Paintball
Paintball use to be one of Jeffs favorite pass times. He was actually on a team. The boys were a lot younger then and really wasn't into it. Jeff still has all his old guns and stuff. The boys have been begging him to get his stuff out and show them. So one afternoon he decided to get it out and share it with the boys. They were so excited to get their hands on all of it. Maybe one day in the future he will take the boys and go paintballing. Jeff said all of his equipment is probably all outdated, but the boys didn't care.
